Microchipping

Where can I get my pet microchipped in Allington ?

Here at Pennard Vets in Allington we are great believers in pet microchipping. Pet microchipping is a permanent means of identifying your pet. The microchips are implanted in the loose skin on your pet’s back. Unlike collars and tags, pet microchips cannot get lost.

Should your pet go missing, our pet microchipping service is a great way to ensure that the best efforts are made to reunite you with your pet. However, it is only effective if you remember to keep your contact details up-to-date.

Each microchip carries a unique number which can be read by a portable scanner and will allow authorities to contact you. Your information is kept on file on a national database.

Since April 2016 it has been a legal requirement for all dogs in the UK to be microchipped and recorded. Another legal requirement is that all dogs should wear a collar/tag with the owner’s name and address attached.

At Pennard Vets in Allington, we use Petlog microchips as they have the UK’s largest microchip database. Please phone us for more details.
