Should I get my pet neutered in Borough Green ?

Veterinarians recommend neutering animals for a variety of reasons. It can reduce unwanted behaviours ; and it can reduce the risk of certain diseases. It also prevents unwanted pregnancies.

Dogs
Females

We recommend spaying a bitch at six months of age, before her first season. There are however, certain breeds where we recommend spaying after her first season.

Why do we spay bitches?

  • Prevents unwanted pregnancies and seasons
  • It reduces the risk of mammary tumours later in life
  • It reduces the risk of an infected uterus
  • Prevents the risk of ovarian tumours
  • Prevents bitches from roaming
Males

We recommend castrating dogs at six months of age.

  • Reduce territorial marking
  • Reduces aggression
Cats

Bring your male or female kitten for neutering after four months of age, as recommended by the latest guidelines.

Rabbits

Rabbits – both male and female – should be neutered from four months of age.
