Therapeutic laser

How can laser therapy help my pet?

Pennard Vets can offer laser therapy at our Tonbridge clinic.

Laser therapy is the use of high intensity light particles to stimulate healing of the body’s cells. It reduces healing time and can also have a positive effect on pain. Studies show that it can benefit animals suffering from arthritis and wounds.

Your pet will not have to sedated or anaesthetised for laser therapy at Tonbridge. The treatment, which lasts between three and eight minutes, involves a laser being passed over the area that needs treatment. The deep-penetrating light promotes healing by increasing circulation, which brings in oxygen and nutrients to promote healing.

The effec ts can be seen as soon as 12 hours after treatment. The effect is cumulative, so as many as six treatments may be required for greatest benefit. Laser therapy can be used alongside other treatments.

We do, however, have to accept that laser therapy is not a cure-all, and that some cases are too extreme for laser therapy.

Can you see why we are so excited?! It gives us the opportunity to treat you pet in a drug-free, pain-free and surgery-free way!
